Adult Education Opportunities in the Garrison

Army Education Centres (AECs) run courses for the career development of soldiers and officers as well as their families. There are two AECs with Bergen-Hohne Garrison; 42 AEC is based in Hohne Station for those based in Hohne Station and Celle and 47 AEC is located in Fallingbostel Station.

Vocational Training Services BFG (VTS) is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Centre with accreditation from City & Guilds, offering UK and internationally recognised qualifications. Located within Hohne Station, this service is available to the whole Garrison (Hohne, Celle and Fallingbostel).

Work based courses are available in the following subjects: NVQ Business & Administration Levels 1 – 4; NVQ Customer Service Levels 2 & 3; NVQ Multi-Skilled Hospitality Level 1; Modern Apprenticeship (16 - 24 years of age) which includes Tech Cert and Key Skills; Key Skills Levels 1 – 3; Award or Certificate in Employment & Personal Development (Entry 3 Level 1) and also Learning & Development Awards (VQ Assessor (A1) and Verifier (V1) Qualifications). In addition, VTS aims to enhance its offer of qualifications on a regular basis and the following qualifications are in the process of being added to their portfolio of City & Guilds qualifications and will be available soon: Workplace Health & Safety Level 2 (Unit); NVQ Salon Services Level 1 and British Citizenship.

3RHA Regimental Army Leaning Centre (RALC) is located within Hohne Station open to all residents of Bergen-Hohne Garrison in Hohne, Celle and Fallingbostel. The RALC is a friendly leaning environment with many computer terminals available and qualified staff to help you get the most out of the RALC. The centre offers 100's of learndirect courses including: ECDL, Numercy & Literacy, Fork Lift Truck, Business & Management and NVQs. In addition to these courses, the centre also offers the following tutor led courses: New Clait, e-Type and ECDL Advanced.
