Newcastle United Shows Support for Desert Rats

The Manager and members of the first team of the Newcastle United Football Club showed their support for the 7th Armoured Brigade 'Desert Rats' during the Op HERRICK 14 Deployment 2011 by wearing 'Desert Rats' wristbands. Part of the Op HOME RAT 'Famous Hands' campaign, which aims to capture celebrities on camera showing their support to 7th Armoured Brigade 'The Desert Rats' by wearing wristbands.

Local German Dignitaries visit Bergen-Hohne Garrison

A group of local German Dignitaries visited Bergen-Hohne Garrison on 20th May. The group was made up of heads of Federal and State Departments based in and around Celle, and included amongst them the head of the High Security Prison in Celle, the Head of Police, the head of the Federal Employment Agency and the Chief Prosecutor at the regional court in Celle.

NAAFI present welfare cheque to HQ 7th Armoured Brigade

Serving personnel and their families across Bergen-Hohne Garrison received a fantastic boost recently as NAAFI presented HQ 7th Armoured Brigade ‘The Desert Rats’ and Bergen-Hohne Garrison with a welfare cheque representing the Total Non Public Funds contribution for the financial year so far.

Dorfmark Housing Completed

On Wednesday 21st April the final 20 houses of Koppelweg, Dorfmark Project were officially signed over. All 85 houses have now been completed with Herr Hoffmann and Herr Masanek, both Managing Directors of the Building Firm Masanek.

Welfare Refurbishment - Jerboas

The Welfare Facilities of Headquarters 7th Armoured Brigade and 207 Signal Squadron have recently been given a complete revamp along with a new name ‘Jerboas’.

The Great Hamstini

Capt David Middlemiss, 50, Padre to 3 Mercians in Fallingbostel has written a children’s book ‘The Great Hamstini’ which is the story of a hamster and his adventures. The profits from the sale of the book will go to Help for Heroes.

Army Rabbi Arnold Saunders visits Bergen-Hohne Garrison
During the week of 8th – 14th  February Rabbi Arnold Saunders, the UK Military’s first Jewish Civilian Chaplain visited Bergen-Hohne Garrison.
