Thanks to hardworking staff from the Army Welfare Service (AWS), Fallingbostel Station youth centre, the newly named ‘Heideway Youth Club’, has been given a brand new look. The club has been completely redecorated with plenty of new activities available and during sessions young people can enjoy a variety of games, playing on guitar hero, chilling in the music room, cookery classes and arts & crafts for the younger children.

Kirsty Saunders, who is the Youth & Community Worker in Fallingbostel, has been pivotal in the relaunch of the club from liaising with building contractors, painting corridors to sourcing equipment for the club. Kirsty said: “it has been a lot of hard work but really worth it. We hope more young people will come and check out the club and see for themselves that this is a great place for young people to spend their time in the evenings with their friends”. Lynne Everett, the Garrison Community Development Officer, also commented: “there has been a great deal of thought has gone into the development club to make it a really great place for young people to come and relax. Many staff members contributed their time and efforts with Kirsty Saunders, Jane Power and Steve Webber being particularly instrumental”.

The club has areas to relax in and many games available including pool, table football and Guitair Hero.
