Three members of Gütersloh Garrison Labour Support Unit were recently praised for their commitment and hard work by Commander 102 Logistics Brigade.
Captain Steve Bowerbank was presented with his Afghan medal for his deployment on Op Herrick 9 and Mrs Pamela Shave and Mr Michael Jortzik received presentations for their unfaltering service to the military over the past 30 years.

Steve was employed as the SO2 Labour Support within HQ Joint Force Support and OC 908 Labour Support Unit, which was part of the Theatre Logistic Group. Based in Kandahar he was responsible for providing labour support to UK and assigned forces within the Joint Operating Area. Assisted by a small team of 7 with detachments in Kabul, Camp Bastion and Lashkar Gar he was responsible for over 700 local Afghan nationals employed directly by the British Army.
Pamela Shave is the customer service clerk in the GLSU Bielefeld office and Michael Jortzik is the C5 Recruiting Clerk in Herford.

Captain Steve Bowerbank receives a bunch of flowers from Brigadier Rob Nitsch MBE. Steve’s wife, Helen, was unable to attend the medal ceremony so he collected the flowers on her behalf!
