The families of the 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (1 PWRR) got together recently at the Tiger’s Den in Barker Barracks Paderborn.  After an opportunity to chat and the kids to be entertained by the excellent WO1 Andy Dow, it was off to Chards restaurant where, as always, the standard of the food prepared by the chefs was of an extremely high standard and greatly received by the families.  After the meal it was back to the Tiger’s Den - where the children, some mums and even the odd dad helped the kids enjoy some fun and frolics. Worthy of a special mention is the Battilion’s  2IC Maj John Baynham who made an excellent mummy in the ‘Make The Daddy Look Like A Mummy’ competition.  A great day was had by all in some splendid autumn sunshine.

1 PWRR Big Brew Fun Run 2008

The 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment held a Big Brew fun run at Barker Bks on Wed Oct 8th, in order to raise funds for SSAFA.  The event was organised by the Bn RSM WO1 Stu Horder and saw runners take part in various states of fancy dress, the most notable being the Bn Adjutant Capt Richard Dobson.  Once the run was completed it was off to Chards restaurant where some of the Bn wives had baked cakes and the Bn chefs had provided hot baguettes for all to enjoy.  A great event in a good cause with the final amount raised still to be finalised.
