Families:
Home-Start helps a wide variety of families who are looking for support for many reasons including isolation, loneliness, postnatal illness, relationship problems, disability and coping with multiple birth or several children.
Families are visited by a Home-Start volunteer while they feel they need help.
Families choose whether or not to accept Home-Start support.
A volunteer will only visit on the invitation of the family.
Volunteers:
Volunteers are carefully selected for their friendliness, practical approach and have the ability to support families’ in their own home for a few hours a week
All volunteers have attended a training course.
Volunteers are there to listen, offer friendship and practical help.
They offer families an opportunity to build up their confidence, develop new skills and enjoy family life. |
