Foundation Stage 1 (FS1)

FS1 is part time education before a child starts full time education in the first year of primary school. Admission to SCE FS1 settings is an entitlement for all 3 year olds. FS1 children can be admitted at the beginning of the term after their third birthday. Cut off dates in the academic year are 31st August, 31st December and 31st March.

Service Children's Education (SCE)

SCE is responsible for providing schooling for the children of Service personnel and civilian support staff working outside the UK. SCE operates in accordance with sound UK practice including the delivery of the National Curriculum (England and Wales) and Early Learning Goals within Foundation Stages 1 and 2. Schools are supported by Child Guidance and Careers Guidance services. Teachers in SCE schools must have recognised UK professional qualifications.
