Ramstein Youth Club Needs YOU . Could YOU be a volunteer at the Ramstein Youth Club
The Ramstein UK Youth Club is supported and regulated by the Army Welfare Service (AWS) in Rheindahlen. The Club is open to children of the Ramstein UK Community and, in certain cases, to some non-UK children. For children aged 7-11, from 3 Mar the Club will meet each Thurs evening from 1830 -2000 in the Brit Pub. A monthly charge of €8.00 is made per child, payable through Mess Bills.
For children aged 12-18, who are usually attending boarding schools during term times, the Club seeks to organizead hoc events during school holidays.
All positions in the Club are filled on a voluntary basis. The Senior Youth Leader (Mr Peter McCarron) is responsible for managing the youth activities with the assistance of Adult Voluntary Helpers. The Club currently does not have sufficient Voluntary Helpers available to ensure that its regular weekly activities can continue and they may have to be suspended until sufficient help becomes available.
To become an Adult Voluntary helper, no formal qualifications are required, other than being an adult and wanting to help! Owing to the current requirements of Child Protection legislation, volunteers who wish to help regularly may need to be vetted by the appropriate authorities but the associated costs are borne by the AWS. If you would like to offer your help to the Club, please contact its OIC, Sqn Ldr Brian Riley, on (0637140) ext 2826, or send him an e-mail on rileyfamily@t-online.de.
