Op Home Rat works in many ways:
It compliments Unit Welfare support by providing additional resources from within the Garrison as well as signposts to a range of Welfare Support Organisations and Agencies that are available to help.
It works to provide you with additional information you need during Brigade deployed periods through this site, the free Heide Magazine, the Hive, BFBS both radio and TV, your Welfare Office and more recently a number of Facebook pages.
It contains lots of useful advice about being separated, for managing family and financial issues and readjusting when the tour is complete.
And for Families in living in Germany it has up-dates of all Garrison events for example Zoo and shopping trips to be held during the time of deployment
And not forgetting our Soldiers, the site will bring you up-dates and photos from Theatre to keep you in touch with their lives during deployment.
Access to the Home Rat Site is via www.ArmyNet.mod.uk follow instructions below for access:
Family members can use this system by going to the ArmyNET homepage and selecting the option - New accounts can be created here, then click on - I am a guest of an ArmyNET account holder.
They will then be required to input their soldiers’ ( or sponsor) user ID, Forename, Surname, Date of Birth and Relationship to the soldier.
The soldier will then be emailed a request for an account that, if accepted, will action a follow up email with the guest’s account login details. It is then the responsibility of the soldier to provide their guest with the account details.
