Estoril Open

throughout May, some of the world's premier tennis players head to Lisbon in May to compete at the Estoril Open, with many televised games and crowds of cheering tennis fans, who play on clay tennis courts

The Road Racing World Championships continues with the Portuguese Moto GP from Estoril. With the enthusiastic local fans making plenty of noise, and the races being consistently exciting, this is a great event to visit.

On 13 May 1917 the Virgin Mary reportedly visited three shepherd children in fields near Fatima. Today several million head for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima to take part in the Pilgrimage to Fatima.
