Once again, the staff of HQ UKSC(G) dusted off their trainers and gym kit for the final event in the GOC’s Inter-Branch Sports Competition 07/08, the Sports Day. This year they were joined for the first time by HQ RESG, bringing the total number of teams in the competition to 6. The Sports Day featured old favourites such as the sack race, the welly toss, the tug o’ war and a gun run, but also more traditional disciplines, including the high jump, long jump, javelin, shot-put, and sprint and middle-distance track events.
Last year’s runners up G4 branch finished top of the standings on the day with 70 points, ahead of G6 on 61 points and the combined team from G2, G3, G5 and G7 branches (aka G17) following closely in 3rd place on 60 points. |
