A Remembrance Service was held at the War Cemetery in Nederweert [above] near Roermond in Holland on Saturday 7th November. A delegation from Medical Branch UKSC linked up with Dutch and Allied Servicemen, both serving and retired, to honour those who died for their country in WW2. The town saw tough fighting in the closing stages of the war and is the final resting place for 363 Servicemen, among them Lance Corporal Henry Harden VC and Private William Joseph Foster of the Australian Army Medical Corps.

On Sunday 8th November, Remembrance Sunday, the Rhine Support Unit (RSU) organised a Service at the Commonwealth Military Cemetery in Reichswald. The annual Service honours those Servicemen who have been killed or injured as a result of service to the Crown, whether in war, conflicts or training. Both civilian and military personnel attended along with representatives from RAF ISO Det Kalkar and NATO allies.
Then on Wednesday 11th JHQ staff gathered at the forecourt of the Big house, JHQ, for a Service of Remembrance which was attended by the GOC, Maj Gen Nick Caplin. Music was provided by The Band of the King’s Division, The Dutch Pipes and Drums and The Crossed Swords Pipe Band.
